After dipping the chain in wax, wait until the chain has cooled down and run it through your fingers, after which the chain is ready for use. AbsoluteBlack wax does not crumble when the chain is in motion, so it lasts longer on the chain compared to other waxes. GRAPHENwax ® also withstands hot weather well and does not melt off. How long does a box of wax last?

Each use requires about 3-4g of wax if you let the wax drip back into the pot. If you clean your chain with boiling water, let it dry, and then wax it, you will get 62 uses and there will still be 100g of wax left in the pot (enough to completely cover the chain). Ultimately, it all depends on how clean you can keep the wax and how well the chain is cleaned before waxing. In general, the wax will last for the same number of uses, but if the wax in the pot has become too dirty, it will simply not be as effective.nbsp;

Using GRAPHENwax ®:

Remove the chain from the bike or use a new chain and clean it with solvent by placing the chain completely in the solvent for 20-60 minutes, using the bag that came with the wax (transparent plastic). Finally, shake the bag with the chain for 2 minutes. Remove the chain and allow it to dry completely (10-12 hours – very important). If desired, you can rinse the chain with 98% alcohol to remove any remaining residue. Once the chain is completely dry (10-12 hours) (cleaning with solvent is only necessary the first time to remove oils), then:

1. Melt the wax completely in a pot. The melting temperature of wax is 70°C. However, heat it to 90-100°C.
2. Place the chain in the wax so that it is completely covered. Wait until the wax that has accumulated on the chain melts again (10-15 minutes – IMPORTANT!). The best way to do this is to use a metal clothespin, for example. (Use gloves).
3. Move the chain gently (up and down, left and right) for about 3-5 minutes to ensure that the wax reaches every part. The chain links need to be flexed so that the wax can get in between them.
4. Remove the chain and hang it up. Gently wipe off any excess wax from the side plates and allow the chain to cool for about 15 minutes. Once it has reached room temperature (40 min), hold the chain in one hand and push it between two fingers of your free hand.
5. Done

Re-waxing intervals:

The wax on the chain lasts for about 450 km in dry conditions. The worse the conditions, the less the wax will last. If the chain sounds dry, it is time to reapply wax. If you ride in rainy/wet conditions, ideally you should reapply wax after each ride.
