*Main benefits of oval chainrings:

1. Pedaling efficiency increases thanks to the minimization of the “dead zone” – since the human musculature is unable to maintain a uniform force output throughout the pedal stroke100% consistent power output in the pedal cycle, the oval chainring amplifies the part where the power output is greatest and minimizes the sector where there is practically no output.
   • For example, an oval 36T gear behaves like a 34T round gear in the “dead zone” and like a 36T round gear in the effective sector. This effect allows you to quickly overcome the “dead zone” with less energy expenditure and maintain a constant flow of energy into forward motion.
2. Pedaling frequency (cadence) increases and the work of the legs becomes smoother – the oval inspires more use of the “pull-push” technique.
3. Smoother pedaling helps conserve muscle energy, recover faster, and reduces stress on the knees
4. Steep climbs become easier because, thanks to more consistent power output, the rear wheel doesn’t spin out as easily (we tried it – it’s actually quite difficult to achieve!)
