The Bottecchia bicycle brand is named after Italian cycling legend Ottavio Bottecchia (1894–1927). He was the first Italian to win the Tour de France (in 1924), wearing the yellow jersey from the first stage to the last, and he also defended his title the following year – an achievement that has gone down in cycling history!
