The Stevens Vapor is essentially a purebred cyclocross bike, as evidenced by its aggressive riding position and lively handling. The bike is equipped with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and a reliable GRX drivetrain. The Vapor is ideal as a first cyclocross bike or as a road/gravel bike for those who value a slightly more aerodynamic riding position.
Cyclocross bikes differ from gravel bikes in addition to a more aggressive riding position, shorter wheelbase, and frame tube placement (for example, the top tube is parallel to the ground to make the bike easier to carry on your shoulder during cyclocross races) and a narrower tire clearance, which means that very wide tires cannot be fitted – the usual maximum is around 38-40 mm.
